Plastic Usage in GM Technology

Featured

GM Technology, the Global Leader of Refurbished Photocopiers and Toner Cartridges, has stopped the use of plastic bags in the packaging of their remanufactured toner cartridges. The old plastic packaging is replaced with new bags made of only environmentally friendly products. The new packaging is made of biodegradable film and recyclable brown Kraft Paper. The transparent part of the bags is made of vegetable cellulose instead of plastic.

Recycle Plastic

GM Technology predicts that they will save 10,000 plastic bags a week with this upgrade, making the remanufactured toners even more environmentally friendly.

Though the change may seem quite small, the smart decision to reduce the amount of plastic used by GM Technology has an incredibly positive impact on the environment.

More and more companies are focusing on their environmental impact in as much detail as possible. Recycling and a more ecological approach is being taken. Plastic use is decreasing in many companies – both on a large and small scale. Whether its avoiding plastic bags or separating recycling and general waste, the awareness of the effect we have on the environment is increasing and being taken into account by companies.

The History of Printing and Communication

Featured

On this day, in 1814, ‘The Times’ of London became the first newspaper to be produced on a steam-powered printing press. Today, we will look at how the delivery of information and news evolved over the course of history. The History of Printing and Communication is actually quite incredible, really.

Printing throughout History

Before the printing press was invented around the year 1436, word of mouth was the primary source that news and information was spread. Returning merchants, sailors and travelers brought news from town to town and from village to village. Ancient scribes often wrote this information down. Letters and scrolls were delivered from one place to another. Many different materials were used to write down information by hand, such as clay, papyrus, wax and parchment. People delivered information as quickly as possible by using different forms of transportation they had at their disposal at the time – horses, ships and homing pigeons delivered information to distant locations. Until the printing press was invented, things like newspapers and posters took a long time to write and were difficult to distribute to a mass audience.

Printing Press - History of Printing

The printing press increased the speed of communication and spread of knowledge. A lot of time was saved printing books and manuscripts and the development and improvements made to the printing press eventually gave us modern printers. The first modern electronic printer was the EP-101, created by the Japanese company Epson in 1968. It was a tiny printer, which weighed just 2.5kg. Charles Babbage, “The Father of the Computer”, designed the first computer printer even earlier. However, his mechanical printer design wasn’t built until 2000.

Modern Printing

Printing Today

Today, printers are widely available to everyone in shops. Additionally, with those printers come ink cartridges, toners and paper (among many more products). One great example of a shop that sells printing facilities is PremiumCompatibles! We are proud to play a small role in the history of printing and communication. The quality of our Compatible Label Tapes

Featured

Going for compatible Inks and Toners is a great way when you are looking for ways to reduce costs, but did you know that you could get compatible label tapes too?

Here at Premium Compatibles we do our best to provide the best quality non-branded products as possible. We always make sure to have all of our label tapes in stock, as we understand how important it may be for you.

Purchasing a compatible label tape means that you can print off a lot more for a reasonably cheap price. If you are looking to save some coin than I suggest you opt for the compatibles on our website instead of branded options on original websites. This will cost you more.

Labels will last if you manage to opt for high-graded suppliers. Our compatible label tapes will not degrade, rip or discolour, making them just as good as the originals. However, it is inevitable that sometimes label tapes will lose their adhesiveness and sometimes not stick on. This may be frustrating, especially when it is for something important such as folders or files. Nonetheless, label tapes are used for a variety of reasons like labelling folders, organizing your spice racks in your kitchen, or simply labelling important files.

The quality of a compatible label tape in comparison to an original label tape is not far off. The only difference you will find is probably over a certain period. What will usually happen over time is that the top layer of the label tape (the protective film) will start to come off. This will make the label deteriorate quicker. At Premium Compatibles we aim to provide the best valued products as possible but regardless of this we want our products to be of best quality also. We still want out label tapes to be of best standard and use. All of our suppliers are the best in quality and we know this because we use these products ourselves!

We have many customers that will say the same and vouch for us!

Premium Compatibles offer compatible ‘Brother’, ‘Dymo’ and ‘Zebra’ label tapes.

We hold on our website these most popular compatible label tapes.

Brother: – Compatible Brother TZe-231 Black on White 12mm x 8m Laminated P-Touch Label Tape (TZE231)

Low Ink Level in Printer – What to do.

Featured

A lot of the time, you may think that your printer is low on ink. Printer manufacturers have mastered the art of tricking customers into buying more ink. However, once you do run out of ink, it is important to know what this actually means. There is a lot to know when replacing your inks and toner cartridges. It can be difficult to understand, as there is a lot of information to comprehend about low ink warnings.

What to Do when you get a 'Printer Low on Ink' Message?

There are usually two main reasons for having low ink warnings. One being that your printer ink is not low. Your printer manufacturers have programmed your printer to give these low ink warnings. This is a tactic for printer manufacturers to profit off consumers.

It is said that if your ink cartridge is allowed to run out of ink then it can end up ruining your printer. The reason that this may be true is that when there is no liquid inside the ink cartridge, the container starts to heat up causing your printer head to damage. It is important to know that the printer head is the most sensitive and vital part of a printer.

Because current printers are three to four times more efficient, they can afford to lose some ink if it would safeguard the printer in the end. Whatever the reason, whether avarice or a technological safety net, every printer employs the printer low ink trick, in which the warning does not immediately imply that the ink cartridge is empty. In truth, At Inkjet Wholesale, we believe that a mix of a technical safety net and avarice causes ink waste. It is simple. All you have to do is keep using your printer after the low ink warning, assuming your printer permits it.

Offline Printer. What do I do?

Featured

When you want to print a document, you sometimes select “Print” but nothing happens. Follow these steps to change your printer status from offline to online. Usually you check a printer’s menu and realise a “Printer Offline” message. With a few simple checks and steps, you can get your printer back online.

Broken Printers

Why does it happen?

Occasionally when printing, the device or computer believes the printer is turned off when, in fact, it is turned on and ready to print. This could be due to a communication failure between your device or computer and the printer. It could be as simple as your cable not being properly connected or a simple error caused by a paper jam.

However, issues can also cause an “Offline” printer error with your printer driver or software. This can vary depending on the age of your printer and whether or not you have installed the updates. This printer offline to online controls and procedures is compatible with a wide range of printers, including Brother, Canon, Epson, HP, and many others.

How to get it working again

Ensure that both ends of the USB cable are securely inserted. If the printer is networked, ensure that the Ethernet cable is properly installed. Check your internet connection or make sure the printer is connected to your router if it is wireless.

If you are connected via cable, try also plugging the printer cable end into multiple ports or sockets on your device.

To ensure that the problem is not with the cable alone, try using a different cable. If you were on a network or using a wireless device, a simple test would be to connect a cable to your computer/device to ensure your printer is operational. As a result, the problem could be with your network connection.

Some Facts About Your Laser Printer

Featured

A little bit about Laser Printers first…

A laser printer focuses light and/or a beam to transfer images and text onto paper. Most of these printers print in monochrome. Laser printers use the laser beam which draws the document. This is then sent to the printer on a selenium-coated drum using its electrical charges. You do not necessarily need Ink for laser printers but it will most likely use toner cartridges and a heated fuser. The toner cartridge sticks to the paper and melts onto the paper using a hot fusing wire. This is through an electrical charge. The fuser heats at 400 degrees Fahrenheit

Laser Printer

Here are the Facts!

In 1985, IBM was the first brand to create the first laser printer, the IBM 3800.180 sheets of paper were printed per minute.

Most parts of a laser printer are recyclable and each printer represents approx. one gallon of oil.

The Inkjet printer used to be much cheaper than the laser printer. However, the cost of a toner cartridge and paper was very cheap.

Laser printers use up 3 times more energy than a desktop printer. Meanwhile the idle desktop printer, which will use 5 times more energy.

In 2009, the fastest colour Laser Printer was designed for office use. It was able to print 37 double-sided sheets per minute and could print up to 48 single sided sheets per minute.

Toner is made up of microscopic plastic spheres that are specifically tuned to the electromagnetic charges of the printer it is made for.

Issues in Printers – Solved!

Featured

Tackle your printer if it does not recognise your Compatible Cartridges

We get many questions regarding whether or not our Compatible Cartridges are going to work in your printers. The correct answer is, yes. However, just like everything else, you could stumble on a faulty cartridge or your printer not recognising the cartridge. In Today’s Blog Post, we’ll answer how to solve issues with cartridges or printers.

What is a Compatible Cartridge or a Non-Oem?

A compatible cartridge is a cartridge that is not produced by the original manufacturer. The functionalities however are almost identical.

HP Printer

Some issues you may have with your printer

Sometimes you will find that your printer will state that the printer cartridge is not detected. Reason being that there may be these issues;

  • The protective strips on your cartridges are still on and need to remove. If this happens, than your printer will register the new cartridge and this will cause further issues. To prevent this from happening take the cartridge out of your printer and double check to see if there are any plastic covers, strips or tabs on your cartridge.
  • You need an Internal memory reset. Your printer should automatically register your new cartridge when you install it. This allows your printer to automatically reset its internal memory. What will usually happen afterwards is your printers’ full ink and toner levels will display. It will react as if your old cartridge is inside. To fix this, remove your new cartridge and replace it with your old cartridges then wait for 10/15 minutes. Then add your new cartridge back into the printer. Usually this will resolve the issue, if not then make sure to check the surface you are inserting the cartridge in and check to see if there are any damages to your printer. If that does not work than try and turn your printer off using the power button or unplug your printer and plug it back into the wall then insert your cartridge and then turn on your printer.
  • The cartridge needs to be correctly inserted into the slot correctly. The best way to know that you insert the cartridge correctly is by listening to the click it makes when you put the cartridge into its slot. For Toner Cartridges there may be parts that can cause the toner not to sit correctly into your printer because of damage. If this happens than make sure to replace your toner as this is the only way to fix the problem.

Didn’t Solve Issues with Your Printer?

If you are having any issues with your compatible cartridges and these solutions have not yet worked, you can email us or call us and we are more than happy to help you solve these issues.
